London and NYC are my two favorite places to go out on a date. The variety of sexy and fun restaurants is endless. Every once in awhile it is a nice change to get out of the kitchen and enjoy some of the amazing restaurants that the city has to offer. There are so many great places that it’s hard to list them all, but the below are my absolute favorite spots for a romantic night out! If you have any other personal favorites, please let me know in the comments. I love checking out new venues!
The Araki – Hands down the best sushi in town! This spot is perfect for those who like to enjoy a long, tasty dinner while the chefs prepare everything in front of you. It is a fun experience and once they get to know you, they will tailor everything to your taste. For me, the chef always makes my sushi with less rice since he noticed I usually eat around it. The menu is omakase only and in my opinion everything is made to perfection.
Park Chinois – The decor is absolutely stunning, there is a live jazz band upstairs and a show downstairs. The food is exceptional and the lychee martini is to die for, not too sweet and stronger than most places (just the way I like it:). The Peking Duck with Caviar is a must try! Some of my other favorite dishes are the Baby Back Rack of Ribs, Chili Chicken Salad, Vegetable Dumplings, Dover Sole, Red Prawns with Coconut and Okra, and the Sugar Snaps Peas with Lotus Root.
Amazonico – Newly opened in Mayfair, this rainforest themed restaurant has already become a big hit! Some of my favorite Nedi approved items are the Pumpkin Tacos (served with radish instead of tortilla), Beetroot Salad, Heart of Palm Salad, Pulled Pork over Potato Tortilla (small bites) and a side of Broccolini.
La Petite Maison – La Petite Maison is great for a more casual date night — their food is always on point! My favorite dishes here are the Niçoise Salad, Scallop Carpaccio, Escargots, Grilled Aubergine with Prawns and Pesto, Roast Baby Chicken, Sea Bream, Sautéed Broccoli, and the Potato au Gratin.
Endo At The Rotunda – Similar to the Araki, this incredible Japanese restaurant offers only Omakase. The seafood is so fresh and the entire dining experience is super fun! I highly recommend it – just make sure you don’t have a large lunch because there are many, many courses.
Jamavar – If you are a fan of Indian cuisine, this is the spot for you! Everything on the menu is excellent. These are my top entree choices: Venison Samosa, Stone Bass Tikka, Lamb Chops (the best lamb I have ever eaten), Malabar Prawns, Chicken Curry. My favorite sides include: Okra, Slow Cooked Lentils and the Cumin Spiced Cauliflower. BTW – if you have something a little bit too spicy, get the Mango Lassi – it is so delicious and will calm your tastebuds!
L’Atelier – Joel Robochun’s 3 story michelin starred restaurant is one of the best French eateries in London. I find all of the dishes to be elegant and flavorful. I would suggest ordering the tasting menu so you can get a little bit of everything. If you do choose to go a-la carte, then I suggest the Sea Bream Ceviche with Peruvian Citrus and the Classic Steak Tartar.
Fifty Cheyne – A really gorgeous and cozy restaurant in Chelsea. Their Green Bean Salad with Artichokes and Truffle is excellent!
Sette – From the owners of Scarpetta in Manhattan, Sette opened its doors in London in the summer of 2019. The Braised Octopus and Spaghetti with Basil and Tomato are my favorite dishes.
Umu – A classic Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Mayfair. It has a beautiful atmosphere and the menu is guaranteed to impress. The Sake-Cured Scottish Langoustine and the Tuna Tartar are two of my favorite dishes.
Milos – I am a big fan of Greek food and this is by far my favorite Greek restaurant in London. The seafood is always super fresh and they have a large selection to choose from. My top picks are the Greek Ceviche, Tuna Tartar with Basil and Chili, Fresh Uni (if they have it), Milo’s Special Courgette with Tzatziki, Mediterranean Octopus, Grilled Langoustines, Loup de Mer with Wilted Greens and the Lobster Spaghetti.
Scott’s – Scott’s is well known for its extensive seafood dishes and excellent wine list. Some of my favorite Nedi approved dishes are the Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi, Salmon Tartar, Tuna Ceviche, Grilled Dover Sole, and the Broccoli with Chili.
Casa Cruz – Located in Notting Hill, Casa Cruz is set over two floors with a unique first floor terrace for drinks and dining. A Healthy with Nedi approved plate of Sea Bream Carpaccio with Chili and Lime won’t sabotage your waist line, nor will a portion of Roasted Cod or the Grilled Monkfish. They also have a cozy fireplace where you can relax and enjoy a post-dinner cocktail.
Isabel – Owned by the same restaurateurs as Casa Cruz, Isabel is a beautiful gem in Mayfair. If you are looking for a fun date night this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The food follows the same low-carb, high-protein template as Casa Cruz, with small plates designed to share. I love the Grilled Courgette (zucchini) with Mint and Lemon, the Paper-Thin Prawn crudo, the Santa Cruz’s Legendary Blackened Chicken and of course the Veal Ragù Gnocchi.
Cut – If you are in the mood for steak on your date night, then this is the perfect spot. It is an excellent fine dining steak house located in Mayfair. My top picks from Cut’s menu are the Burrata Salad with Figs and Prosciutto, the Summer Corn Salad, Big Eye Tuna Tartar, Wagyu Steak Sashimi, Sautéed Dover Sole Meunière, and the Filet Mignon with Spinach and Wild Mushrooms.
Meraki – Meraki is a contemporary Greek restaurant created by the owners of Zuma and Roka. It is located in the heart of Fitzrovia. My favorite dishes here are the Beetroot Salad, Grilled Aubergine, Fresh Sea Urchin, Grouper Carpaccio, Prawn Ceviche, Warm Horta Salad, Greek Salad, Keftedes, Grilled Grouper, Lamb Chops and the King Oyster Mushrooms.
Palomar – Palomar is located in Soho and offers exquisite cuisine that will make you feel like you are in Jerusalem. My top picks from their menu are the Burnt Courgette Tzatziki, Beetroot Carpaccio, Salmon Tabulenia, Beef Tataki, Shakshukit, Ironed Chicken Thighs and the Josperised Aubergine.
Sexy Fish – I personally prefer the bar scene here better than the food, but if you are with a big group then it can turn into a fun dinner. Some #HealthywithNedi approved dishes include the Salmon Nigiri, Tuna Tartar with Miso, Sea Bass Tiradito, Pepper Crusted Wagyu Tartar, Grilled Avocado Salad with Lime Dressing, Thai Spiced Stone Bass and the Prawns with Shiso Salsa.
Nedi thank you so much for putting this together! I’m a NYer who is new to London, I love reading recs from other Manhattanites.
So glad you find it helpful, let me know if you have any favorite spots! xx
