Fitness is a huge part of my daily routine and has been ever since I was a little girl. While growing up I took skiing, swimming, and aerobics lessons. Fast forward years ahead, and I’m still the same fitness lover as I was during my childhood. No matter how tired I am, I push myself to do a light work out. I know 100% I will feel better afterwards. Of course, there are days when I just can’t get to the gym and that is fine too. It’s important to find the right balance and know what works for your body. Rest days sometimes turn out to be the best days!:) However, the days I am not resting you can find me breaking a sweat with one of my favorite trainers. I love Soul-Cycle, Barry’s Bootcamp, SLT or a private pilates, and boxing. I always make sure to keep my work outs versatile.
Soul-Cycle gives me such a high! The endorphin rush is so intense that my entire day just fills up with positive energy. I am a big fan of Nina Rutsch and Jessica Gunner. These girls have THE BEST music!!! I always wish I could bring my phone to shazam every single song while in class lol… Not only is the music motivating, but the way they lead the class and speak to each one of the riders is so empowering and inspiring. There was a time when I actually cried during one of my rides but unless your going through some really deep personal trauma, I can assure you will leave class with the biggest smile on your face! 🙂
Some of the empowering quotes Nina likes to use are “inhale something new, exhale something old” and “show up to strengthen yourself, not to stress yourself!”
Jess is also very motivating and I often hear her say, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” or “Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”
Love the energy these girls share and pass onto their riders. Check them out for yourself!
Barry’s Bootcamp is literary the best workout in the world! The class is split between cardio and weight lifting and you have the choice of booking a double floor, which allows you to stay on the floor the entire class so you can focus more on building up muscle mass. I have been a fan since they first opened in New York. Each time I move apartments, I make sure Barry’s is in a walkable distance! 12:30pm with Patrick has always remained one of my favorite slots. He is tough but oh sooooo good! The day after leg day with him, I can barely sit down and I just think to myself “Why did I do this, but its the best feeling knowing I got a really good work out.” No pain, no gain right!? Some of their other trainers with high energy tunes and spirit are Matty Maggiacomo, Noah Neiman, Layla Luciano, and Natalie Raitano.
Personal Training – when I travel I always book a PT! I get to meet new trainers and learn different techniques. It’s so important to switch it up, you don’t want to do the same thing every time. By using a variety of different exercises the muscles won’t get used to the same movement and each time you can shock your body with a new move. The day after boxing I feel sore in places of my arm I didn’t even know it is possible to hurt that bad! Another day I’ll do some weight lifting in the gym with Norbert Konya and feel a completely different burn from the one I felt after boxing. Bodyism is also fantastic and with their trainers we incorporate a mix of strength training , TRX, yoga or pilates to achieve a lean and toned muscle.
