This week I am heading back to school! I am excited to be starting the Master’s Program in Food Studies at NYU Steinhardt and to be dedicating my days (and nights) to learning more about my favorite topic…food!
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join one of the country’s first food studies master’s programs and to gain a deeper understanding of cultural, political and economic issues in food.
Here are some of the courses that I will be looking forward to taking:
- Food composition
- Menu planning and assessment
- Food safety
- Dietary patterns
- Diet and health issues
- Dietary recommendations
- Food products for nutritional purposes
- Examination of world cuisines and their influences on late 20th century North American food, meals, and menus
Stay tuned for more exciting updates as I enter this next chapter of my life.
Hi –
I am interested in the NYU Masters in Food Studies Program and am wondering if you might have a brief moment to tell me how you like it. I just graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I really admire and respect the path you’re taking in health and wellness. I’m sure you’re super busy so any words of advice would be really appreciated! You are an inspiration –
Hi Molly,
Thanks for reaching out and for the sweet words! It means the world! 🙂
NYU is such a great school and I love the master’s program in Food Studies. There are really interesting courses that you can look into on their website and they also offer a lot of awesome study abroad programs. One of them this summer is the study of Mediterranean Diet in Italy! Hope this helps! xx
