This summer I have been constantly on the go, in fact I haven’t been home to New York since May! Sometimes when I travel this much, I find that it can be challenging to keep up my workout routine, especially when I am visiting family or bouncing from destination to destination. Since I can’t take my favorite trainers and studios with me everywhere I go (how nice would that be), I rely on apps to help me stay healthy while I’m traveling. I put together a list of the best health and fitness apps so you can stay in shape while traveling too!
Calm – Meditation is so important and sometimes we forget how much of an effect it can have on our entire physical and mental state! Especially during chaotic trips and visits. I’ve been using this app since January and it has helped ground me SO MUCH. There were nights when I couldn’t get my mind to relax and these guided meditations eased me into sleep. There are a ton of different ones – for example, you can do meditations to build self-esteem, to reduce anxiety, to promote happiness, to sleep better and many more!
SWEAT: Kayla Itsines Fitness – Kayla Itsines workouts are really fun and also a bit challenging. I use her app whenever I don’t have access to a gym or a trainer and they are really effective. It is a 28 minute circuit that will get you feeling so pumped and ready for the day. I absolutely LOVE THEM!!
Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock – When you think about health and fitness apps, you may not necessarily think about sleep, but getting a good night’s sleep is so important for your overall health. The time change and jet lag when traveling overseas can make this really tough. I love to use the sleep cycle app to monitor my sleep patterns and make sure I’m getting enough sleep.
YogaGlo – If you’re in the mood for a yoga class instead of a workout, check out YogaGlo. YogaGlo gives you access to amazing teachers from anywhere in the world. They have so many styles, classes and levels to choose from, there is literally a yoga flow for everyone. I love doing one of those sessions as yoga lowers stress and improves overall mood which can be superb when traveling.
