The thing about going to Bali is that it’s so much more than a vacation. There is truly something magical about visiting this exotic, beautiful place. I recently spent a week in Bali with my grandmother and I truly believe it’s a destination that everyone must visit. We found it to be not only charming and peaceful, but also an incredibly healing, life changing place. We loved every minute of our trip.
Our Bali Lodging
The Four Seasons at Jimbaran is absolutely breath taking. The resort is extremely large and all of the villas overlook to the Indian Ocean. One word: MAGICAL
Our villa was stunning! We had our own private pool, an outdoor living room with a kitchen area, and across was our bedroom with large walk in closets and even larger bath… and an outdoor shower! The hotel offers adorable “buggies” to drive you around the resort and get you to your destination.
The main restaurant at the FS is Sundara. It’s set on the beach and it’s open for lunch and dinner. We loved hanging out there as the ocean was a few steps away. We always wanted to dip our toes in – the water was as warm as tea! If you have a meal at Sundara, you cannot miss taking in one of the gorgeous sunsets. Really, don’t miss it!
Staying Slim & Trim on Vacation
Vacation is one of those events where it’s easy to fall off track when it comes to healthy eating and exercising. In Bali, this was actually quite easy. I slept exceptionally well at night and woke up around 6:30 each morning. My grandma liked to sleep in, so I used this time to go to the gym and have a little sweat session. After the gym followed a long breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Bali is full of delicious, nutritious foods and I really enjoyed trying some of their local foods. Everything is super flavorful! Breakfast was either eggs or a large plate filled with seasonal fruit, including traditional Balinese mangosteen. The flavor of the fruit is sweet and fragrant, I smuggled a few back to Europe with me!
The days were so hot that our lunch was light, usually a green salad with grilled fish. For dinner we indulged a bit more and tried many different dishes, from sashimi to Asian chicken salad with peanut sauce to pork ribs with “patatas bravas.” Of course, I can’t forget our occasional glass of wine at dinner. 😉 It was vacation, after all!
AntiGravity Yoga
AntiGravity yoga is highly therapeutic and so much fun! My grandma came to my session to watch and before I knew it, she was swinging back and forth on the hammock!! It truly is an activity for all ages!
Flower Bath
This is a beautiful experience with fresh flower petals picked from the tropical Bali land, it will relax you to a level you’ve never imagined. The bath oil moisturizes and softens the skin, relieves stress and accelerates skin cell renewal. Book this magical treatment in your villa, and enjoy the luxury of your own private spa!
See A Spiritual Healer
Bali has extraordinary healers who can give you guidance in life and help with certain issues. My grandma and I both saw spiritual healers while we stayed in Bali. These women were incredible. Each session is unique, with experiences that range from deep peace to clarity on personal issues, connections with those who have passed away to inspiration for the present. I highly advise you book a session while you are in Bali. Ask the spa to arrange a healer to come to the hotel.
