Though trick-o-treating days may be past us, Halloween themed treats will stay forever! Halloween symbolizes Fall, all things warm, cozy and wonderful. More recently, Halloween has come to be associated with an overdose of Candy bars, chocolates and children complaining about an upset stomach the next day. Beyond commercial candy bars, there are kid (and adult) friendly healthy alternatives out there for you to serve up and enjoy yourself on this holiday! I put together a list of my favorite Halloween themed recipes, including some from my own blog. This Halloween, don’t be too scared to try out something new!
Jack-o’-Lantern Stuffed Peppers
These peppers would have been the best way to get me to eat peppers as a kid. Simple, quick and made using minimal ingredients, they pack good fiber and protein and make great appetizers. The lean beef can be replaced with any protein of choice such as turkey or tofu.

Halloween Pizza
I came up with these gluten-free Halloween themed pizzas last Halloween. They are the perfect little single serving appetizers for a Halloween themed party and are made using just four ingredients! You can easily make them dairy-free by using a vegan cheese.

Halloween Banana Ghosts & Clementine Pumpkins
Halloween quintessentially calls for a sugar fix, so why not satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt? Try these creative takes on everyone’s favorite fruits – bananas and clementines. These are always such a hit – even with kids!

Zombie Fingers
These taste like candy bars and would be a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen or trying out healthier ‘candy.’ Made with chocolate, oats and peanut butter, these taste decadent and hit the sweet spot!

Candy Corn Yogurt Pops
Candy corn… in frozen form… that is actually good for you – what! These popsicles resemble a Halloween cult candy which packs a punch of protein with the main ingredient being Greek Yogurt. You can replace this with dairy-free coconut yogurt if you prefer.

Vegan Pumpkin Brownies
These dairy and gluten free brownies scream fall and appeal to all ages! Pro tip: to make them more ‘Halloween themed’ by sticking up these edible candy eyes on each piece.

Bloody Falafel Fingers
In the midst of all the sweetness, these salty, crunchy and fragrant falafel bites will steal the show. These are gluten free, soy free and baked till insanely crisp and tender – the perfect pick me up amidst the Halloween frenzy.

Sweet Potato Jack-o-Lanterns with Cinnamon Sugar
These easy 3 ingredient snacks are a quick take on sweet potato fries – and they’re really sweet. Just cut the potatoes, toss them up with cinnamon sugar and pop them in the oven for a fiber filled, satiating sweet treat.

Halloween Guac-Monsters
Because no party is complete without a good chip and dip, I had to include this insanely cute single serve guac and nachos appetizer! These will really take your Halloween to the next level.
Superfood Beet Bites
If the name wasn’t obvious, you wouldn’t be able to guess that these sweet and chewy energy bites are made with the goodness of beets! They have superfoods like hemp and cacao too. You can stick on the edible googly eyes for that extra oomf.
