The Best Avocado Toast in NYC

By Nedi · On June 28, 2017

Avocado toast is having a moment right now and for a good reason. Avocados are a great source of fiber, potassium, Vitamins A, E & K and Monounsaturated Fats (the good fats:). When I make avocado toast at home, I use high-fiber, low-gluten bread or GG crackers, when I eat out I shoot for gluten-free or whole grain bread.

health benefits, avocado, weight loss

Here are my favorite avocado toasts in New York City:

The Butcher’s Daughter – this 100% vegetarian, and mostly vegan and gluten-free cafe with locations in NoLita and West Village is a vegetarian’s dream.

Get The: gluten-free avocado toast with a fried egg on top!

Other dishes to try: Butcher’s Pancakes, 7- Grain French Toast, Cauliflower “Grits”.

Two Hands

This Tribeca-located Australian-run café offers simple healthy eats.

Get The: Smashed Avocado Toast

Other dishes to try: Smashed Peas, Chilli Scrambled Eggs, Banana Bread.

Jack’s Wife Freda

This restaurant has a mediterranean menu that is to die for and two great locations, one in Nolita and one in West Village.

Get The: Smoked Salmon and Avocado Toast

Other dishes to try: Bloody Mary, Green Shakshuka, Madame Freda, Mediterranean Breakfast, Poached Eggs with Grilled Haloumi.

The Upsider

This is on of my favorite uptown brunch spots. Their menu is really yummy and they have several healthy options.

Get The: Smashed Avocado On Thick-Cut Multigrain Toast with Poached Egg

Other dishes to try: Vegetable Frittata, House Pancakes, Steak And Eggs.

The Egg Shop

Eggs are one of my favorite foods and this café serves nothing but. You can’t go wrong when you pair eggs with avocados.

Get The: Avocado Smash with Heirloom Tomato and Poached Egg

Other dishes to try: all of their sandwiches are great and available to order on GF english muffin!

Cafe Gitane

Café Gitane is a French-Moroccan café known for their delicious avocado toast.

Get The: Avocado Toast with Chili Flakes

Other dishes to try: Baked Eggs with Basil and Tomato, Eggs Purgatory, Orange Blossom Waffle.

Le Pain Quotidien

With several locations all around New York City, you can get your avocado toast fix from this popular eatery almost any time.

Get The: Avocado Toast with Citrus Cumin Salt

Other dishes I like: Organic Steel Cut Oatmeal, Organic Greek Yogurt with Berries, Warm Belgian Waffles.

Little Collins

This is one of my go-tos for healthy sandwiches & their Australian-inspired avocado toast does not disappoint.

Get The: Smash Avocado and Feta Toast with Chili Flakes and Pepitas.

Other dishes to try: Toasted Banana Bread with Ricotta and Strawberries, PBJ Sandwich with Coconut Flakes.

Bluestone Lane

Another Australian café offering a deliciously simple menu, which includes gluten-free bread options.
